The Belgrade Marathon will be held on Sunday, 21st April 2013, for the 26th time. The Belgrade Marathon is Serbia’s biggest sports events that attracts the largest attendance, and as such has been declared an event of special importance for the Belgrade city by the Belgrade City Council.
The Belgrade Marathon comprises the 5km Fun Run, half marathon and marathon. Fun Run (5 km) is a non-competitive race, there is no registration, winners or placement. It is open for participation. The race starts at 10:05 at the junction of Knez Miloš Street and Nikole Pašića Square (in front of the Serbian Parliament building). Half marathon (21,1 km) is also open for participation, children aged 14 to 16 must provide a written parents’ consent. The race starts at 10:00 at the junction of Knez Miloš Street and Nikole Pašića Square (in front of the Serbian Parliament building). Marathon (42,195 km) is open for participation of everyone over 18. The race starts at 10:00 at the junction of Knez Miloš Street and Nikole Pašića Square (in front of the Serbian Parliament building).
The competition is held in compliance with the rules of the Athletic Federation of Serbia and the IAAF.
Belgrade Marathon is considered to be the major sports and promotional event that is traditionally held in the country. Together, the Children’s Marathon and the Belgrade Marathon draw significant attention from the national media every spring.
